Easter Seals Elects Friendly Ice Cream Corporation Executive, Kevin McNamara, to the Organization’s International Board of Directors
Chicago (July 11, 2008) — Today, Easter Seals appointed Massachusetts resident Kevin McNamara to its International Board of Directors, during the board’s meeting currently being held in Chicago.
“Kevin is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities and their families,” said James E. Williams, Jr., chief executive officer of Easter Seals. “His executive experience in leadership training and management will be a valuable asset for our organization. And, his support of Friendly’s annual Cones for Kids fundraiser for Easter Seals is remarkable.”
McNamara, Vice President of Operations Support Services at
Friendly Ice Cream Corporation, has been instrumental in leading
Friendly’s corporate sponsorship of Easter Seals. Friendly’s annual
“Cones for Kids” campaign has raised more than $25.1 million for Easter
Seals since 1981, raising over $619,000 in 2008 alone.
“Friendly’s recognizes the importance of giving back to the community
and we are proud of our partnership with Easter Seals. Our goal is to
raise $1 million for children and adults with autism and other
disabilities through Easter Seals next year,” said McNamara. “I look
forward to serving in a governing role with Easter Seals.”
McNamara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Syracuse University. Previously, he has served in executive leadership roles at Burger King Corporation and Dunkin Brands, Inc. He and his family live in Franklin, Massachusetts.
