WILBRAHAM, Mass.—Sept. 13, 2006— Paul V. Hoagland, executive vice president of administration and chief financial officer of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation (Amex: FRN), has been elected to the board of directors of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. Hoagland will serve a three-year term with the association, which has 2000 members and associates and supports the food and beverage industry throughout Massachusetts.

Named to his present post in 2003, Hoagland previously served as Friendly’s senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and assistant clerk. Hoagland held executive positions with New England Restaurant Company, Inc., Burger King Corporation and with I.T.T. Continental Baking Company before joining Friendly’s in 2001.

He lives in Wilbraham, Massachusetts.
