FRIENDLY'S ANNOUNCES RE-FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WILBRAHAM, MASSACHUSETTS - December 9, 2004 - - Friendly's Restaurants Franchise, Inc., a subsidiary of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation (Friendly's) of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, announced today they have entered into a re-franchise agreement with Apex Eagle Hospitality, Inc. to own and operate six Friendly's restaurants in Ohio. Dan Digiambattista, President and Kerry Janke, Vice President, are former Friendly's employees who have a combined 43 years of Friendly's restaurant operations experience. Mr. Digiambattista, was formerly Director of Regional Operations for the Albany area Friendly's restaurants and Mr. Janke was the Regional Vice President of Friendly's restaurants in the Boston area. With this agreement, Apex Eagle Hospitality, Inc. will own and operate the Friendly's restaurants in Parma Heights, Akron, North Canton, Middleburgh Heights, and Willoughby Hills. They will also continue to own and operate the Friendly's restaurants in West Lake and Massillon. Friendly's Chief Executive Officer and President, John L.
