CALLING ALL THE COOLEST KIDS! Friendly's contest gives kids a chance to win the coolest job of the year WILBRAHAM, Mass. (Nov. 24, 2004) - Here's the scoop. Friendly Ice Cream Corporation is looking for kids between the ages of eight and 12 for the "Coolest Job in the World" - that is, to be a member of the Friendly's Fab 50. Kids in and around Boston; Springfield, Mass.; Hartford, Conn., Philadelphia and Albany, N.Y. are invited to log on to www.friend-zworld.com/fab05 and submit a brief essay on why being a part of the Friendly's Fab 50 is the "Coolest Job in the World." The Friendly's Fab 50 panel of tweens will represent the sophisticated tastes, cutting-edge styles and dynamic personalities of their age group and will be involved in menu and new product development. The tween panel will also be asked to lend their opinions and expertise in areas from ice cream to burgers. Of course, it won't all be serious work for this panel of young foodies. The Friendly's Fab 50 will kick-off their term at an event in their area where they'll receive a "fab" prize package, including a U.S. savings bond, a supply of Friendly's ice cream, Friendly's Fab 50 gear and a Friendly's gift card. As the voice of their peers, they'll also be featured on the friend-Zworld.com Web site, and have a trading card created with their photo and essay printed on it. "Response to the Friendly's Fab 50 program's first year was terrific, and we're looking forward to another successful year. Tweens have great insight about trends and tastes, and this program gives them an opportunity to share their thoughts and have a real impact on our decisions," said Pete Bell, senior director of brand marketing at Friendly's. "The kids gain some insight into how a business is run and have a great time being involved with their communities." Fifty kids, 10 in each of the five markets, will be selected.
