FRIENDLY'S ANNOUNCES FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WILBRAHAM, MASSACHUSETTS - July 28, 2004 - - Friendly's Restaurants Franchise, Inc., a subsidiary of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation (Friendly's) of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, a vertically integrated restaurant company serving signature sandwiches, entrees and ice cream desserts in a friendly, family environment announced today they have entered into a franchise agreement to build and operate Friendly's branded restaurants in the Sussex County, New Jersey. Francis D. Negri, Sr., a seasoned restaurant entrepreneur based in Lafayette, New Jersey, has an exclusive agreement to develop Friendly's branded restaurants in Sussex County, New Jersey. Specifics of the agreement include three new Friendly's restaurants by March 2008 with the first slated to open in late 2005. Friendly's Chief Executive Officer and President, John L. Cutter, offered, "We're pleased to welcome Frank into the Friendly's franchise family. His years of operations experience and his understanding of our brand's heritage is a great fit for Friendly's".
