FRIENDLY'S NEW CARB FABULOUS AND LIGHTER CHOICES MENUS OFFER INDULGENCE WITHOUT THE GUILT Wilbraham, Mass., (July 13, 2004) - Starting today, millions of Americans who are counting carbs or fat grams can visit a Friendly's Restaurant to treat themselves to new Carb Fabulous and Lighter Choices entrees, soups and salads, and even cool desserts that satisfy their cravings and their diets. "By choosing from Friendly's new Carb Fabulous and Lighter Choices menus, diners can feel good about their choices," said Larry Rusinko, Friendly's Senior Vice President, Marketing. "We make eating out guilt-free." Guests at Friendly's can dive into a Carb Fabulous Sundae with creamy Carb Fabulous Vanilla ice cream topped by no-sugar-added hot fudge sauce, whipped topping and almonds - all with only 11 grams of net carbs--or take home a 56-ounce carton of Friendly's Carb Fabulous Ice Cream in Fudge Swirl or Vanilla. With no sugar added, Carb Fabulous Ice Cream is also a delicious option for those with diabetes. The Carb Fabulous menu also includes mouth-watering entrees like the Bunless Colossal Mushroom Swiss and Bacon Burger with 11 net carbs, Carb Fab New Orleans Chicken with Cheese with 10 net carbs and Sirloin Steak and Portabella Mushrooms with 12 net carbs. Lower carb soups and salads make a perfect accompaniment. Friendly's new Lighter Choices menu features Sundaes made with Fat-Free Frozen Yogurt in Raspberry Swirl or Vanilla, with Chocolate, Marshmallow or Carmel Topping. Total fat is 3.5 to 7 grams per Sundae. Entrees range from the Mandarin Chicken Delight Salad, made with grilled, spicy, ginger glazed chicken breast and mandarin oranges atop fresh greens, to the Roasted Turkey Delight, with roasted turkey breast served over seasoned rice with mixed vegetables and cranberry sauce - with 10 grams of fat or less.
