THEY'RE HIRED! FIFTY KIDS, FIVE CITIES AND ONE FAB JOB Friendly's Contest Winners Begin Cool 'Taste Test' Job WILBRAHAM, Ma (May 14, 2004) - Talk about the best summer job ever! Friendly Ice Cream Corporation is excited to bring on board its newest employees - The Friendly's Fab 50. This new crew will help the popular restaurant and favorite ice cream joint decide what food is "fab" in '04. In March and April, kids ages 8 to 12 in and around Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY; Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA logged-on to www.friend-Zworld.com to enter the Friendly's Fab 50 contest. Hundreds of contestants submitted a fifty-word essay vying for a spot on The Friendly's Fab 50, a panel of tweens representing the sophisticated tastes, cutting-edge styles and dynamic personalities of their age group. Only 50 kids made the cut based on the originality and creativity of their essay on "Why being a Friendly's Fab 50 member is the coolest job in the world." Junior Foodie Panel Friendly's Fab 50 members will attend a kick-off party this month where they will be assigned their first project - to evaluate various food items from ice cream to burgers. As the voice of their peers, the Friendly's Fab 50 will be involved in product and menu development throughout their nine-month term. They'll also be featured on the friend-Zworld.com Web site and will make special appearances at a summer mobile marketing tour when it stops in their locale. Of course, this panel of foodies will enjoy some perks for all their hard work, including a $200 US savings bond, a home supply of Friendly's ice cream, Friendly's Fab 50 gear and a Friendly's gift card.
