FRIENDLY'S INVITES CONSUMERS TO MELT AWAY WINTER Come to Melt City for Good Times, Good Taste & New Hot Sandwiches WILBRAHAM, MA (February 25, 2004) - Friendly's Restaurants have come up with an irresistible way to say goodbye to the chill of winter: Take a trip to Melt City any time from February 23 through April 25. A getaway to Melt City offers adults and children a chance to take a break, relax and indulge in three new hot SuperMelt® sandwiches in mouth-watering flavor combinations: The Philly Steak 'n' Cheddar SuperMelt, based on the Philly classic, is bursting with tender, thinly sliced steak; savory sautéed onions and green peppers; and tangy cheddar cheese sauce, all piled on thick, grilled sourdough bread. The Frisco Patty SuperMelt, from the city by the bay, combines a grilled, pepper crusted half-pound burger; rich, melted cheddar; lettuce and tomato; and zesty Thousand Island dressing, served between golden slices of grilled sourdough bread. The Honolulu Chicken SuperMelt, a luau of summer flavors, includes sweet strips of crispy fried chicken breast, smoky bacon and lively Pepper Jack cheese, topped with tangy pineapple-Dijon sauce and served between grilled slices of honey dill rye bread. Making Melt City even more enticing is the offer of a free Happy-Ending® size sundae with any of the three new SuperMelt sandwiches or any SuperMelt from Friendly's regular menu. Customers can choose from any of Friendly's rich creamy flavors, including Forbidden Fudge Brownie, a favorite being brought back just to Melt City. Those who want to extend the Melt City experience can even take home a hand-packed pint of this luscious chocolaty ice cream available only for a short time.
